Job Role Overview: Assistant General Manager – Instrumentation & Automation
The AGM – Engineering will oversee all engineering operations, ensuring seamless automation, precise calibration, reliable instrumentation, and efficient process maintenance. They will lead a team to maintain and optimize electromechanical systems critical to insulin production, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, FDA, ISO) in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Automation Leadership: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of automation systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, robotics) to enhance production efficiency and reliability.
- Calibration Management: Oversee calibration and maintenance of critical instrumentation (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow sensors)to ensure accuracy and compliance with GMP and FDA standards Oversee calibration of instruments with industry standards.
- Instrumentation Oversight: Manage electromechanical systems, ensuring reliable operation of manufacturing equipment and maintenance of instrumentation systems for precise process control.
- Process Maintenance: Develop and execute preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
- Electromechanical Expertise: Lead troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of electromechanical systems (e.g., motors, actuators, conveyors) used in manufacturing.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities adhere to pharmaceutical regulations (GMP, FDA, EMA) and safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and integrate new technologies.
- Mentor and manage a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Collaborate with quality and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Work Location: Muppireddypally, Hyderabad.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Experience:
- 15+ years in engineering roles within pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing, preferably insulin or sterile drug
- 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing automation, instrumentation, or maintenance teams.
- Proven expertise in automation technologies (e.g., PLC programming, SCADA systems, HMI).
- Hands-on experience with calibration of industrial instruments (e.g., pressure transmitters, flow meters) and familiarity with metrology
- Strong background in electromechanical systems, including troubleshooting motors, gearboxes, and robotic equipment.
- Experience with process maintenance in a GMP-regulated
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in automation software (e.g. of automation softwares).
- Knowledge of instrumentation tools (e.g.).
- Familiarity with electromechanical tools (e.g.).
- Understanding of SCADA, HMI, and real-time data acquisition
